Registering for the Ride and Walk

Q. Do I have to register for the ride or walk?

A. Yes, for safety reasons everyone participating in Lund's Ride and Walk for Children must register online or on the day of the ride. This allows us to know who is on the road and when everyone has completed the ride or walk.

Q. How do I register for the ride or walk?

A. Click the "Ready to Hit the Road" button on the homepage and read the rider Waiver Release/ Fundraising Agreement carefully. Please complete all the required registration information. All registrants are required to pay the registration fee while registering online. Contact Sophia Shems if you have any questions on registration at sophias@lundvt.org or (802) 448-3617.

Q. I rode in Lund's Ride for Children last year, can Iuse the same username and password?

A. Yes, we encourage you to use yourusername and password from last year. This will speed up the onlineregistration process. If you forgot your username and password please contact Sophia Shems at sophias@lundvt.org

Q. What is a Team Captain?

A. A team captain creates the team name and a team fundraising page during the online registration process. The teamcaptain's name is listed in bold on the team page. The team captain can encourage family and friends to join their team and can also keep the team on track with fundraising and preparing for the ride.

Q. What is the cost for an adult to participate in Lund's Ride and Walk for Children?

A. If you register online before April 28,2017 there is a $50 registration fee for adults (for the purpose of this ride,an adult is age 16 years and older) and a fundraising requirement of $100 in addition to the registration fee. The family ride and walk has a $10 registration fee for all participants and a $10 fundraising minimum for all participants. Your credit card will be charged immediately for the registration fee and the fundraisingminimum must be met by April 28th or your credit card will be charged for the remaining fundraising balance. We encourage everyone to fundraise beyondthe requirement minimum to support Lund's mission of helping children andfamilies thrive.

Q. What is the cost for a child to participate in Lund's Ride and Walk for Children?

A. If you register online before April 28, 2017 there is a registration fee of $25 for the longer rides and no fundraising requirement. It costs $10 for a child to participate in the family ride or the walk and we ask that they also raise $10. A child is considered anyone 15 years old or under and children under 4 are free. Your creditcard will be charged immediately for the registration fee.

Q. What age do you have to be to participate in the ride or walk?

A. Anyone and everyone are welcome to participate from babies on the back of a bicycle or in backpacks, to little kids on tricycles or in strollers, to men and women bikers and walkers of all ages. Adults are people ages 16 years and older and a child is anyone 15 years of age and under. There are different mileage routes for people of all abilities.

Q. Can I register multiple people at once?

A. Yes, you can. Just click on the link under the registration info when you have signed up your first participant.

Q. Do I have to register children 4 and under?

A. No, children 4 and under do not need to register.

Q. When does online registration for the ride and walk close?

A. Online registration closes on Wednesday, June 1, 2017 at noon.

Q. Can I register on the day of the ride and walk, Sunday May 14, 2017

A. Yes, anyone may register the day of the ride and walk. When registering in person, the registration fees remain the same, however, the fundraising requirement of $100 is to be paid as well, for a total of $150. Registration fees for the family ride and walk are $10 and a fundraising minimum of $10 for a total of $20 per person. For children in the longer rides (ages 16 and under) the fundraising requirement is waived and children under 4 are free in the family ride and walk.

Q. I registered online, but I need to cancel. AmI still required to pay a registration fee and fundraising requirement?

A. If you cancel by Monday, April 17th, 2017 you will not be required to pay the fundraising minimum, but registration fees are not refundable. All riders who cancel after April 17th, 2017 will be required to meet their fundraising commitment of $100 or $10 depending on the ride they have signed up for to Lund. Q. I have already registered for the ride and I need to change my personal information, am I able to do that online?

A. Yes, you can change your personal information by logging and then going to your participant center found on the top right of Lund's Ride and Walk for Children home page. Then click on 'profile' on the top right corner of the page.  If you have questions or forgot your username and password please contact Sophia Shems at sophias@lundvt.org or (802) 861-2587

Fundraising

Q. Do you have tips and information on how to fundraise?

A. Yes! Each rider has theirown personal webpage where friends and family members can make gifts online tos upport your ride. There are also sample emails to send to family and friends once you register to ride under Participant Center.

Q. Am I able to cover the fundraising cost myself rather than fundraise?

A. Yes, the $100 fundraising minimum may be paid at the time of registration by making an additional gift. You may also make a gift on your personal fundraising page via credit card after registration or mail a check to:

Q. What should I do with cash that I receive?

A. Please do not send cash in the mail to Lund. If you receive cash you have a few options:

Dropit off to Lund at 50 Joy Drive, South Burlington, VT and ask for Sophia Shems.

Write and mail a check for the cash received and include the name and address of the donor so we may send a tax letter otherwise the donor will not receive a tax acknowledgement. Please make checks payable to "Lund".

Make a gift on your personal fundraising page with your credit card for the amount of money you received in cash, enter the donor's information in gift section, but your information in the billing section.

Q. My company has a matching gift option; can I utilize this to support my ride?

A. Yes, matching gifts count towards your fundraising goal and will be added to your online fundraising page. You will want to contact your Human Resources Department to see if they will match gifts made to Lund. Employees will need to complete the necessary paperwork or online form for the matching gift. Q. Someone made the check out to me, what should I do?

A. On the back of the check on the endorsement line, please write "Make Payable to Lund". Our office may then process the check and post the gift on your personal fundraising webpage.

A. Lund's Ride and Walk for Children hasroutes for cyclists of all different abilities but just for you this year,we've added a 3 mile walk! Join us for some fun without wheels.

Supporting a Participant's Ride or Walk

Q. How do I make a gift online?

A. Click on the Donate tab on the top navigation of the event homepage. You may then search for a participant by name. Once you have found them, click on the Donate Now button. Enter your gift amount, and follow theinstructions for entering your personal information including name, address,email, and credit card information. Q. I have a cash gift to support a rider or walker, what do I do?

A. Please do not send cash in the mail. Please make a gift via credit card online or convert you cash into a money order at the Post Office or local store and mail to Lund. Please be sure to include the rider's first and last name if you are mailing a money order. Money orders may be sent to:

Volunteering

Q. What are some of the volunteer opportunities at Lund's Ride and Walk for Children?

A. Volunteer opportunities include monitoring the course routes, helping out at our rest stops, rider/walker registration, and helping out at the festivities after the ride.

Q. How old do I have to be to volunteer at the ride/walk?

A. All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older unless accompanied by an adult.

Q. Are there other volunteer opportunities outside of events to volunteer with Lund?

Q. What should I bring with me to volunteer?

A. Please remember to pack light and check the weather before heading to the event. Volunteer shifts take place outside,so wear comfortable shoes and clothing and be ready to cheer on our riders andwalkers. There will be plenty of snacks and water for volunteers and riders/walkers. Please note, Lund nor any of its partners are responsible for lost or stolen items while volunteering.

Event Day Sunday May 14, 2017

Q. If I have not already registered for the ride/walk online can I register on the day of the event?

A. Yes, anyone may register the day of the event, but registration fees and fundraising minimums must be paid immediately. There is $50 registration fee for adults in the longer rides (ages 16 years and older) and a fundraising requirement of $100 to be paid the day of the event. . For children (ages15 and under) there is a registration fee of $25 and no fundraising requirement for the longer ride. Riders or Walkersmust pay the registration fee of $10 and$10 fundraising requirement. Children under 4 are free.

Q. Where does the ride/walk start and end?

A. Lund's Ride and Walk for Children starts and Rice Memorial Highschool, in South Burlington

Q. What time does the ride/walk start?

A. The start times are different for each route. Late riders/walkers will not be accommodated. Registration and start times are as followed:

Registration for the 55 mile ride starts at 7:00am and the ride begins at 8:00am

Registration for the 30 mile ride starts at 7:30am and the ride begins at 8:30am

Registration for the 16 mile ride starts at 8:00am and the ride begins at 9:00am

Registration for the family ride starts at 9:00am and the ride begins at 10:00am

Registration for the walk starts at 9:00am and the walk starts at 10:00am.

Food, fun, and festivities will take place from 11am until 2:00pm. Please note, all riders/walkers must be in by 2:00pm, the event ends at this time. Please choose your route accordingly based on your ability.

Q. What time does the event end?

A. The event ends at 2:00pm

Q. Where can I park?

A. Parking is available at Rice Memorial High School, 50 Joy Drive in South Burlington and the surrounding businesses.

Q. What if it's inclement weather on the day of theride?

A. Lund's Ride and Walk for Children is scheduled to take place rain, shine, or snow. And yes, it did snow one year and there was a definite showing of hail and freezing rain two years ago.  But we're Vermonters, we can take it.  If there is severe weather predicted,please check our website or call (802) 448-3617 for updates on the ride/walk due to inclement weather.

Q. What should I wear and bring with me on ride day?

A. Despite what the forecast may be, we recommend packing light. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, cell phone, ID, and small amount of cash just in case. All riders must wear helmets. We suggest comfortable biking shoes, and clothing. Please note that neither Lund nor any of its partners are responsible for lost or stolen items.

Q. What takes place after the ride/walk?

A. There is food, live music, and fun activities for kids

Q. Is there food, water, and bathrooms along the routes?

A. Yes, there are rest stops along the way with snacks, water, and porta potties. Rest stops will be highlighted on route maps. Please see our route maps for exact locations.

Q. Can my family and friends meet me at the finish line?

A. Yes, we encourage you to have your family and friends cheer you on as you complete your route, join in the festivities.
